Etsy's fee is made up of a $0.20 listing fee per item, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, and payment processing of about 3% + $0.25 in the US. Together, Etsy typically takes 10–13% of a standard order, or around 25–28% if the sale came through Offsite Ads.

On a $100 US sale with free shipping, Etsy takes about $12.15 — $0.20 listing, $6.50 transaction (6.5%) and $3.25 payment processing (3% + $0.25), leaving roughly $87.85 before your product costs. If the sale came from Offsite Ads at 15%, Etsy takes about $27.15.

About $6.68 on a $50 US sale: $0.20 listing + $3.25 transaction + $1.75 processing plus the small regulatory fee, leaving roughly $43.32 before COGS. With 15% Offsite Ads the deduction is about $14.18.

Etsy takes 6.5% of the item price plus shipping as the transaction fee, plus payment processing (3% + $0.25 US, 4% + £0.20 UK), plus the $0.20 listing fee — around 10–13% per sale in total.

The Etsy listing fee is $0.20 per item (£0.16 UK, €0.18 EU) and lasts 4 months or until the item sells. If your listing auto-renews after a sale, you are charged $0.20 again, so a sold-and-renewed item costs $0.40 in listing fees.

Etsy's transaction fee is 6.5% in both 2025 and 2026. It is charged on the item price plus shipping and gift wrapping — not just the item price, which is why sellers with high postage often see a bigger fee than they expect.

Offsite Ads cost 15% of the order total for shops under $10,000 in the last 12 months, and 12% for shops above $10,000 (where participation is mandatory). The fee is capped at $100 per order and only applies when a buyer clicks an Etsy-placed external ad and buys within 30 days.

A reliable Etsy seller pricing formula is: Price = (materials + labour + shipping cost + packaging) ÷ (1 − total fee rate − target margin). With 13% fees and a 30% target margin, that is roughly your cost ÷ 0.57 — about a 1.75× markup, or 2.2×+ if you run Offsite Ads.

US shops pay $0.20 listing + 6.5% + 3% + $0.25 processing. UK shops pay £0.16 listing + 6.5% + about 4% + £0.20 processing, a 0.32% regulatory operating fee, and 20% VAT on top of Etsy's fees — so UK sellers typically lose 2–4 percentage points more per order than US sellers.
